Great intro from HR, good conversation with the HR coordinator overall. Was invited to the second stage interview (online) but the Head of Buying didnt grace us with his presence without any notice. I agreed to meet with the Head of Buying again (even though not showing up without a notice was a huge red flag) but he wasn’t even kind enough to switch on his camera leaving me and the HR team in an uncomfortable position with our cameras on. It’s understandable if someone prefers to keep their cameras off but it’s only polite to mention this at the beginning of the meeting. Considering that this person would have been my manager and on a remote basis it just proves a huge lack of communication at such an early stage. The questions asked were very vague as if the Head of Buying was made to participate in this interview, which was baffling considering he didn’t appear on the first interview. When I asked about progression in the Team, the Head of Buying has let me know that it’s difficult to progress be young the role of buyer, so keep this in mind if you care to progress and to communicate properly with your manager. Overall, very uncomfortable and unprofessional experience. Maybe other departments are doing a better job. In the end, I was showing my annoyance which was very visible because I have quite frankly wasted my time. I didn’t get the offer but even if I did, I wouldn’t have accepted it.
