I applied online for the Virginia Beach call center on Perimeter Parkway. After I completed the online application GEICO emailed me an assessment test, The assessment was online and took about 20 minutes to complete. Two days later GEICO emailed me an invitation to come in to the office to participate in the pre-employment computer testing. I scheduled the time I would like to come and the morning I came into the office there were at least 10 other candidates in the testing room. We were given instructions to be as accurate as possible and don't feel intimidated if we did not finish or made a mistake because nobody ever received a perfect score. Again during the computer testing they are looking for Accuracy. The computer testing includes a typing test as well as simulations as if you were working on the call center floor. It's very easy as long as you follow instructions. At the end of the exam our instructor told us she would let us know if we passed or failed. She called 1 girl outside of the testing room and came back inside. When the instructor came back inside she advised the rest of us that we all passed and would move onto the next part of the application process which is the interview. She called us up 1 by 1 to schedule an interview appointment. Two days later I came in for my interview with Andrea Harris. I really liked her we made great conversation and she asked normal interview questions, immediately following the interview she asked me to do a role play assessment with her. She gave me about 3 papers filled with information on a fake insurance company that I had to read up on.. she gave me 20 minutes to do that. Andrea then went in another room and called me on the phone 3 times and acted as different customers. They are looking to see that you have worked in customer service and how you respond to customers needs. After we finished role playing Andrea invited me to complete the next step of the application process which was a real job preview where you actually go on the call center floor and sit with an agent while you listen to their calls and observe how they handle each call. Of course I was excited. I came back the following week for the Real Job Preview, They handed me a paper with about 8 questions to fill out while I listen to the agent calls. Make sure you listen to the calls and take notes they will ask you about your experience and the nature of the calls. The agent I sat with was great she was extremely polite and knowledgeable. After I sat on the floor for about an hour the department manager came and got me I can't remember her name. She brought me in her office and immediately asked me about the calls the agent had. she wanted to know why the customer was calling, what were they looking to resolve, were they angry or happy, and etc. The interviewer then asked me why do I want to work for GEICO and 2 other questions. It was interesting because she didn't ask me nearly as many questions as my 1st interviewer had asked me. She advised me the starting pay was $15.05/hr and went over the training time. At the end of it I asked her a few questions. She then asked me to hold tight while she went and spoke with her peers. 5 minutes later she came back in the room and told me her peers were in a meeting and she would definitely call me in 2 days. This made me feel confident I mean we had a great interview and we were even from the same city and state. I just knew I had the job. Unfortunately 2 days later I did NOT receive a call, HOWEVER I received an email from GEICO advising me they went with other candidates. It's really messed up because I went out to the office 3 different times and had my hopes high. They really make you do so much before you are even offered the job The whole process for me took about 2 1/2 weeks. It was just inconsiderate and because of the inconvenience I probably will never apply to GEICO again. Good luck to any one reading this though.

You first fill out an assessment test. The assessment test isn't difficult; there are a few parts to it. First is the reading tables section. It asks you a question about the table and based on that you pick one of the four answers. This part is timed so you want to pace yourself a little bit. The other part is picking the statement that describes you the best, then the second-best statement out of three statements. Overall, this did not take long.
