J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez GAIL’s Bakery (Londres, Angleterre) en oct. 2024

Applied online for the roles of Barista and Kitchen Team Member at a new store. I was invited to a trial shift at a nearby store but the email did not mention which job this was for, so I had to email them back to find out that this was for the Kitchen Team Member role.
The recruiter I spoke to mainly asked questions about my studies and availability. There were only two actual “interview” questions. I then went and spent about 10 minutes helping prepare some almond croissants with the two members of kitchen staff there.
I was told that I would be given the outcome the following day, but did not hear back until the following week (I was unsuccessful). I responded asking for feedback and they did not respond to this until a month later, saying that the recruiters noted that I did not have enough experience.

I was showed around the work area and then had a half an hour trial. Basically just followong the recipe provided and doing the food prep.
HR asked some basic questions afterwards.

Ghosting practice goes on here. If you don't get the job, they won't call you and tell you, they won't even text you. Their system? No contact is the way you're supposed to understand that you didn't get the job. It's fairly gross, but this is almost standard practice everywhere now

Typical interview questions, like how did you get into this line of work, what was your last kitchen job like, etc.

Got an experience shift interview a few weeks after applying and was sent a link to book a half an hour timeslot. Interviewed by a member of the talent team and it was a very simple interview (only 2 questions). After interview was over, I got to work with the kitchen staff stuffing some croissants, but it seemed to just be to get a taste of the job rather than be assessed by the staff/interviewers.
A whole load of questions about what/where I study, when I finish my studies, my availability, any holidays I have, how long it takes to get to the bakery, exam period and the earliest time I can come in.
