I had an initial interview with the hiring manager to understand the role and if it was a good fit.
I then had 3 45 minute technical interviews, these were mostly straightforward, standard questions around projects and AWS technologies. The exception was one interview where the interviewer was late and I had to call the talent team, when the interviewer did arrive they didn't introduce themselves, the rest of the interview was rushed and unpleasant, and the interviewer was arrogant and condescending. I glossed over this as we wouldn't be working together closely.
The penultimate interviews were to meet the team, and the final interview was with the hiring manager again to explain why I liked the role and answer any final questions. Everyone I met was very friendly with the notable exception and seemed great to work with.
The talent team was great up until the final stage, for example arranging interviews at short notice to meet timelines, and doing this late on Friday evening. The let down was when sending a contract over was briefly discussed, only for them to come back a day later and not offer the role in the end due to perceived lack of experience driving and leading projects, this was poor management of expectations.
