I was contacted to come in for an interview via text. The fact that they actually suggested how to dress professionally should have been my first indication that this is a job best suited for students with limited professional experience.
The CEO seemed a little too pleased with the fact that their sales model is door-to-door. He spent several minutes disparaging other types of marketing and advertising (and stroking his ego about using Verizon as a client), mostly arguing that CTR on banner ads is very low.
Cool story, but advertising is not always about direct sales through that specific ad - it's about building brand/product awareness that will eventually drive customers to you.
They also seem pretty proud of the fact that apparently working their sales model WILL make you cry at least once. Not exactly a great selling point to hire someone.
Interview ended politely enough, but it's a hard pass on my end.
