I was really excited to interview with Formation as I never knew about them prior to applying - I thought the concept of the company was really cool and different and I loved how it was making a change to help people from all different backgrounds and essentially help them upgrade their skills both in the engineering realm and as well as how to navigate a crazy market and land them ultimately their dream job in the tech world. However I was hugely disappointed by their interviewing process, they had me prepare for a 3.5 hour interview which consisted of me presenting to a team of around 5 fellows with follow up questions, I had re-arranged a family trip in order to accommodate this interview, after the interview I was told that I would get an update within the next couple of days - unfortunately that was almost four weeks ago and not a word has been heard since, I have followed up on multiple occasions asking for any update on my application and have essentially been "ghosted". Anyone that is in Talent Acquisition or any organization for that matter should know this is a huge no no in the recruitment process as it provides a really negative experience for the candidate and essentially paints a picture of the company brand - which unfortunately it is had done exactly that, I was horrified to see that it seems to be a trend for Formation to do this by looking at other reviews. Due to this negative experience I would not consider applying to any other roles with them and someone who works with Engineers on a daily basis, I would never recommend Formation to them either as I would not want them to experience the same thing I have.

Three or more interviews. The second interview comes with "homework" for role-playing. The interview process isn't flawed but takes up much of your time and energy. It can take some time to hear back, too. Seems like some gatekeeping is going on during the third round of interviews... yuck.
