A bit disjointed, extremely time consuming, and overall a disappointing candidate experience. The recruiter contacted me for an initial phone screen which went extremely well, and at the end of the conversation she outlined what the next steps would look like. The process ultimately ended up changing without notice being given, which was confusing as a candidate. I had a subsequent virtual interview with two individuals the next day, which felt lukewarm in my conversation with them. Was invited back for a third and final interview, involving meeting two other HR team members followed by an intensive case study presentation on site. This ultimately ended up being a three hour ordeal. The two HR team members were incredibly friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with them, but they seemed to not understand or have a solid role in the process- it felt more like an informal chat over coffee. One commented that they weren’t sure what they were supposed to cover with me, leaving me feeling a bit hesitant. The case study interviewers changed last minute as well and the lead interviewer came off a bit condescending at times. I did not ultimately get an offer. The recruiter reached out in the late afternoon five days after to schedule a quick call. I replied immediately with my availability for the next day and never got a response back. The availability I provided came and went, so I had to send an email and follow up with the recruiter again to find out if we were still connecting. When they did end up calling me, the phone call was tone deaf and lacked empathy considering it was a particularly intense process. There was a lot of time and effort put into the process, including analyzing the case study and preparing to present on it, only to feel disappointed with the overall candidate experience. This was obviously not a good fit both ways, but I can also definitively say I will not be applying to another position at Ford based on my experience.
