I applied from the Flatiron's website on 13th March, their recruiter contacted me on 16th March and the video chat interview was scheduled for 20th March. It was a typical tech interview.The interviewer went over the company details, then I went over my past experience, then he asked me one technical question, after looking at my solution he said "your solution is very nice and clean - I like it". At the end I asked him a bunch of questions. They use an online code sharing tool so he actually executed my code and it ran fine.
I was told I can expect the feedback with in a week, I didn't hear back so I emailed them after a week, they asked me to email them after 2 more days, I emailed again after 2 days but didn't get a response... at last I just got the automatic rejection email today.
@Flatiron.
1- Your interviewer liked my solution so obviously technical skills weren't the issue + my code ran fine and gave the correct output for the given input.
2- I obviously had the right amount of experience and background that's why you scheduled the interview in the first place.
So if it isn't the technical skills or the experience then what else was the reason for the rejection? When a candidate spends 2-3 weeks for the interview then as a courtesy please at least give them the reason for the rejection. It would be great if you could copy/paste the feedback from the interviewer in the rejection email... Just saying " it's not quite the right match" isn't enough.
