This is by far the worst interview experience I have EVER had.
They reached out to me initially saying they were impressed with my CV. I was sent a pretty non-descript job spec. I noticed there was no branding watermark, and spelling/grammatical errors. Safe to say my first impression wasn't great. I noticed there was no salary outline, I then asked FOUR times over email and voicemail and was totally ignored. I made the decision to still go to the interview for "experience", but it was a total waste of time and petrol.
The woman who had initially contacted me gave instructions on how to get there, fine. "Please ask at reception for First, and they will show you where to go, then ask for *Jim*" only there was no reception when I got there, so she clearly had no idea about the office. I walked up the stairs, knocked and was met by a young man who didn't say much. I asked for *Jim*, only to be told his name was *Tom*, which was embarassing. I then got told by *Tom* to wait a few seconds whilst he finished an email and I awkwardly stood for 5 ish minutes without being offered a seat despite there being one next to me.
When I got taken in, he didn't know my name and immediately began a sales pitch on how much money I could make and that the appointments were NOT cold leads/calls and were all prearranged pre-interested clients. I asked for the base salary which again was skirted around and finally he said its commission only, do you want to be put forward for the job? I said I don't think so because I need a wage (ha) but will get back to him and thanked him for his time. On the drive home I was wondering whether it is even legal to not at least offer a minimum wage, got home and checked and it isn't, so that is a huge issue!
I got a phonecall a few hours later from a very scatty *Tom* quite rudely saying to me to come in tomorrow?! Which I found bizarre considering I did not accept the job offer. I mentioned this and was hung up on abruptly.
Overall, completely lackluster, unprofessional and misleading from the start. The whole organisation seems very sneaky and wrong, don't let them sell you the dream! Do your research first, unlike me.
