The interview for a planner position is a thorough process that evaluates your skills along with passion for this job of delivering unbiased financial education and guidance. Connecting with the planners during each interview is very important as well. Each interview stage examines something different and includes behavioral, technical, role playing, and panel interviews. The final phase is facilitating a short workshop for the home office where you don’t know the topic until you arrive. Their recruitment history shows that only 2% of planners make it through the entire interview process so it is a challenge. They are looking for the right fit so the process may take a couple months or so to complete.

Long and tough. Each one was different. Each interview was done by someone on the planning team. While i didn't get an offer, I walk away impressed by the process and the people. I know why I didn't make it through the process and will spend the next year working on those skills and then come back through the process again as a better candidate. It is tough, but I learned something about myself through the process.

Financial Finesse has an extremely long, multi-step process. The company recruiter was pleasant. You will be made aware that only 1 to 2% of applicants make it past the behavioral interview portion (Step 3). Got the feeling that they want people who are plain vanilla to fit with their corporate culture. They have a few minorities (less than 4). They turn away a lot of talented people that are not "just so" (i.e. that they feel cannot be broken down and built back up in their image)

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Various. Lots of typical behavioral interview questions.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Financial Finesse on Glassdoor. We are always looking to hear from candidates about their experiences and ways we can improve our recruiting and interviewing process. While it’s true that only 1-2% of all who apply for the Resident Financial Planner position end up with job offers, that’s a number that represents the entire 8 step interview process – not just the behavioral interview. This is not just a job, or even a career. It is a calling which requires incredible expertise across a full spectrum of financial topics, coupled with a talent for counseling and motivating people of all income levels to improve their finances. Someone can be an excellent planner but still not a perfect fit. We are also very proud of our diversity in our hiring. Our employees today and in the past have been of quite a variety of backgrounds and life experiences, including many more than 4 of our current employees. We are not looking for any one type of employee. Our culture is very different than “Corporate America”, where many of our employees worked in prior roles. The culture is flexible, entrepreneurial, and fast paced -- where small teams do tremendous things. As many of our planners will attest, the things that made them successful in their prior roles may not be as successful here. There is constant evolution and training for planners in order to help the individuals we work with experience financial behavioral change that can help them change their lives in a positive way.
