I interviewed for the SPC graduate scheme. There were multiple stages including a phone interview and an assessment day. The assessment day had a 1 on 1 interview, presentation and written exercise. The phone interview was fairly short, only 30 minutes. It asked questions about the FCA's work, the scheme itself, things the FCA had done in the last 12 months, what things I thought were particularly impactful and what my motivations were for joining the FCA. I think there were some other questions of the standard "tell us about a time when..." type, one might have been about working with others. All in all, I felt the phone interview was fairly straightforward and as long as you have read about what the FCA has been doing recently, are knowledgeable about what the scheme is and why you want to join it and have pre-prepared standard interview questions you should be fine. I did the assessment portion online, a group of people also did it at the same time but there was no group exercise. The written exercise was about banking fraud, there was a strict time limit and a lot of documents to read through. There were then 3 or 4 questions like "which stakeholders will you contact?" when it came to dealing with/investigating someone who had had money fraudulently withdrawn from their bank account. The interview portion was basically just a longer version of the phone interview. The presentation was looking at insider trading, again with lots of documentation to read within a strict time limit - this time the format was that you would present the information to your line manager.

Clear, only 1 stage along with an assessment that was attached to the interview. Two interviewers and lasted about 45 mins for the interview and had an hour for the assessment

Straight forward interview. Questions around their corporate behaviours were sent beforehand along with the core skills for each grade which was really helpful. Two questions that weren't shared were role specific.
Panel were friendly and asked any followup / probing questions. A written task was sent to complete following the interview.

a long time ago, a chat with two colleagues covering typical interview questions, there's not much to say that's unusual, fairly standard, I would say, nothing to be worried about
