I was headhunted by a recruiter via linkedin. I was interested after talking to her. She told me an hourly range, and that seemed reasonable.
The industry standard for this position is around $22 per hour and I have 2 years of direct experience in pet insurance retention as well as a proven track record of success. I set up an interview, and the hr person I was interviewing with informed me the pay is $18 per hour, despite the recruiter saying it was $21. There appeared to be no room for movement here, even if someone has experience, and there appeared to be a large amount of miscommunication between recruitment and HR.
I messaged the recruiter, she said she would get back to me, and then never did.
Overall, the process left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I had heard from others that the company is urgently hiring retention reps, and after going through the interview process I wasn't surprised to see why. Hopefully, they can get their retention wages up to industry standards and I know their staffing problems (and thus, their retention rate) will improve.
