The tendency in hiring from 2010 or so onward has been to move quickly with hiring decisions. FedEx Office hires for attitude, and the rest can be taught. You may have more translatable skills than you would at first think. Hiring managers tend to look down on "low grade" retail experience like Target or Gap and think more about specialty retail or "high end" retail.
