I received a call from a Recruiter regarding my resume on a popular job site. The Recruiter asked if I would be able to come in for an interview to discuss career opportunities with Farmers Insurance. Basically it was a position to be an Agent for the company. During the interview I was asked a couple of illegal interview questions such as if I was married or single, do I have any kids, etc.? Once I was asked those questions I should have listened to my intuition, and politely ended the interview. However, I did not. At the end of the interview I was informed that I would have to take a IQ/Personality Test.
The Recruiter took me into a room that had several computers and I was told that I would be timed. One question on the test was "What year did World War II start?" The test also included mathematical and analytical type questions. Neededless to say for the position they wanted me for, I was unsure what all the testing was for.
The next day I received an email from the Recruiter stating that they were examining other candidates for the position, and were not going to move forward with the hiring process. I can honestly say I was relieved when I received that email. I was completely turned off by the illegal interview questions, and should payed attention to the red flags within the first seven minutes of the interview.

Was basic and tedious asking me questions about my prior work history so make sure that I understood the job role. Overall it was not difficult to formulate an answer to the questions.

The interview was professional and conversational. The agent clearly explained the role, expectations, and growth opportunities. I was asked about my communication skills, work ethic, and goals. Overall, it felt welcoming, informative, and focused on long-term potential rather than pressure
