      Entretien pour Intern

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Fame Fashion House (New York, NY) en avr. 2019

      Entretien

The interview itself was quick. Basic questions about yourself and your experience in the industry. The position was for a paid internship, as described on their job ad. They got back to me within the same day of the interview, and I was told to come for a “test” in the next day. They decided to keep me for a training period which happened for 4 times in one full month (once per week). After the training period was over, they told me that they would start to pay me as an intern for the following next week. But 6 days later, they sent me an email saying that they no longer needed me because the last works I did were bad (not even giving me chance to fix the works at all when I was there) and they told me that they decided to keep another intern that they already have, which is completely a lie because they keep re-posting the same job ad to look for new intern with an additional sentence that says “it is an unpaid internship” (finally the truth came out). Very shady, dishonest, and unprofessional. Completely a waste of time. I have nothing against unpaid internship at all. But the agreement in the beginning was for a paid internship, and they started kicking me out once they had to pay me after all the works I have done for them. And using my mistake during training period as an excuse to kick me out is very absurd. The purpose of training is to learn and allow mistake as a part of the learning process. If they want to hire someone who never makes mistakes even once, then don’t hire an intern. Please just hire an expert who has 5-8 years experiences. It’s ridiculous that they still want to hire unpaid “intern” for cheap/free labor and then they expect high quality works without any mistakes at all and without the chance to fix them. New interns are bound to make mistakes. What your company should do is to give chance for the interns to fix the mistakes so that they can learn from it. If you want to become an intern here, please make sure they are honest with you from the start about the position.
