      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez ExpertVoice en déc. 2025

      Entretien

4 months of interviewing to get ghosted. First callback - December 7th. Told not getting the job - March 24th. The interview process was a total of 5 separate interviews, a "pitch yourself" email, and a cringe worthy 200 question sales personality test. All for a job with a base salary of $55k. I was overqualified for the role, but I have a lot of experience with ExpertVoice as a customer and was excited about the opportunity, despite taking a step back to have prospecting be nearly my sole responsibility. Every question I was asked, I was able to respond genuinely with answers grounded in previous experience. I left every interview feeling optimistic, apart from the fourth with the COO, Lauren. She told me the interview went great but said it was a "red flag" that I had spent the last year assisting with a startup inbetween full-time jobs, and told me she had concerns that my "hobby job" worried her about my commitment to EV, despite telling her it was something I was dedicating roughly 4 hours a week to and was planning to step away from. I was shocked at being told that helping to launch a business (in a completely different industry) was cause for concern, and we scheduled a fifth interview where I basically swore allegiance to EV to quell her concerns. Weeks go by, nothing. I email the VP of sales who was in charge of hiring to see if there was any timeline I could expect, nothing. I emailed the outsourced hiring manager to see if I could get an update. I would receive responses a week at a time where I was effectively told that I was being put on a backburner while they interviewed other candidates. This was 2 and a half months into the interview process. I received an offer from another company, but let EV know that I was mostly excited about the opportunity with them, I just needed a timeline. They never gave me one, I took the other job, and I am so, so thankful for it. March 24th rolls around, Ziola calls me to tell me I didn't get the job. I told her transparently that this interview process and its length were absurd, and she seemed to agree with me. I thanked her for her time, but was transparent in letting her know I'd be writing an honest review. She asked me not to, as "this was not the typical interview experience for a candidate at EV". However, this was in fact my experience. I asked if she could touch base with the team to see if they offer me any feedback, or at least let me know why they kept me on the backburner for months and months. She said she would, and that was over three weeks ago now. In short, EV disrespected the time I committed to interviewing with them, and I'm thankful that they did. This gave me a good insight into how the company runs, and how I would have been respected as an employee. I'm loving my new job, and I'm glad things didn't work out with this company.
