I was hired on as a contractor and was lucky to have one interview and then was just transitioned to FTE without additional interviews 2 months later. This is no longer the case; contractor to FTE candidates have to go through a full loop even when it's them essentially doing the same job. I suggest humility and I once interviewed a contractor that was sure he'd get the FTE position and didn't based partially on his cockiness.
