I was interviewed by two engineers, one of which came across as super arrogant and drilled me with really stupid questions despite me having 20 years of software engineering experience. This set a “lie detector” tone for a poor interview experience. The guy didn’t even know what SharePoint was, didn’t know the compensation range for the position, and kept the interview as a jeopardy like experience.
I told them that I thought their biggest challenge was adoption. Their response was simply that they have to build it first. Leaving me with the impression that this startup has no idea how to turn what they’re building into something tangible and their investment dollars will soon run out.
My overall impression was that they already had their minds made up on who would get the position and they were just wasting my time. Had they asked me to come back, I would have politely declined. Had the interview experience been different, I would have shared the fact that I have overseen blockchain teams and have received awards for our work.
