Had an exploratory call with SVP of sales which led to interviewing for a platform sales manager position. I had 4 interviews, One with the SVP of Sales, The Platform Sales Manager, Head of People Operations/HR, and then VP of Operations. The feedback I got along the way was all very positive. I was then asked to give a sales pitch for the group of interviewers. After the sales pitch it took quite a bit of time to understand what was the next step and the process felt drawn out over a month at this point. I followed up for feedback for weeks. I was very transparent during the process that I was interviewing with other companies and had another offer on the table and was just looking to close the loop on if they were going to make an offer or not. After another couple weeks, I did hear back from HR that they were not going to make me an offer. The feedback I received was that I didn't have enough "SaaS" background. I had been selling services for the last 15+ years mind you. Then they said that this wasn't a no, but not right now. I was confused at this point on why they decided not to move forward was it my background or other factors that caused them to pause. The role is still posted as open.
