There was a casual, 30-minute screening interview. I thought it went really well and was told that they would reach out in about a week. After nearly two weeks without word from the organization, I emailed to follow up about my status. I received a response that I would not be moving on in the process. About two months later, I got the official rejection email.
I've decided to start calling out organizations that try to ghost people after interviews. If you tell someone who interviews with you that they will hear from you within a set time frame, you should stick to that. Candidates should not have to crawl after you begging for an update. There's just no excuse for treating people that way, particularly once they've reached the interview stage. I would not apply for another role at this organization.
