I had two rounds of virtual interviews and then a test where I had to provide information needed for the team after researching a conference they would be attending. I am pretty sure they were just using me to get free work done, because I was ghosted after that. I was told the last step would be an in-person interview that would take all day, but no one responded to the multiple emails I sent asking if I could come in for that interview or at least get feedback on my “test.” It is despicable to steal free work from people in this way and to treat them as less than human, not even gibing feedback or a short message saying “we are going with someone else.” I would have done a great job in this role, and it really excited me, but they didn’t treat me with respect.
