I recently went through a four-round interview process with Ensemble, which initially seemed promising. The process included an involved skills test that required over 10 hours of my time, in addition to the four one-hour interviews. While I appreciate thorough hiring processes, the level of commitment expected without compensation or clear communication felt excessive.
Unfortunately, after investing significant time and effort, I was notified via text message from HR that I was not selected. This impersonal approach soured what had initially been a positive experience. A more professional and respectful conclusion—such as a brief call or email—would have gone a long way in maintaining goodwill.
For future candidates, I’d advise being mindful of the time investment required. For the company, I’d recommend refining the process to be more considerate of candidates’ time and ensuring rejections are handled with the same level of professionalism as the interviews themselves.
