Unfortunately I found the interview experience to be very negative. In the initial interview invite it was described as a 15-minute first stage interview, however it turned out to be a very blunt screening interview in which I was not asked to even introduce myself. Instead, several quick-fire questions about hypothetical scenarios in an airport setting were thrown at me in a very robotic manner. It was suggested to me as the interview began that I take some notes, however in the stress and pace of the moment I struggled to do this as I was not expecting it and therefore failed to answer some of the questions correctly (which were right or wrong answer questions) and thus failed the interview. I felt this was unfair as I spent 5 full days preparing and did a lot of research and practice for interview questions and answers. I would have appreciated getting the opportunity to present myself and my abilities and experience, as well as display my efforts in preparing for the interview (especially considering how much personal information and detail was required in the application...?) instead of being shut down immediately because I failed to remember a hypothetical flight number. I did not feel that the interview was conducted very fairly nor was the discussion friendly or inviting. It felt very systematic and impersonal. It made me realise quickly that this type of job was not for me nor were the work environment or attitudes. I understand that there will be a high number of screening interviews to be conducted, however I would suggest approaching them with some respect and consideration for the interviewee's nerves and maybe even some interest in their abilities and experience, as well as not giving the impression that 1000 interviews had already been conducted that day and there were 1000 more to go. In the initial interview invite the interview format should have been explained much more clearly and then maybe I would have been adequately prepared. I had a lot more to offer and present about myself and was not given the chance which is their loss.
