good technical conversation at a very high level. got a chance to ask questions and also received personal feedback right at the interview. was invited to do a second interview approx. 1 week later and received the offer 2 days after the second interview. all in all the process finished within 10 days.

1st interview was with head of engineering about JVM generally.
2nd interview was with three managers about java questions and code review questions.
3rd interview was with hiring manager regarding another code review.

3 steps, the communication was pleasant the whole time, and the technical task was sensible. It was a live coding task, during which I demonstrated how I think, rather than trying to solve some gymnastic challenge.
