The principal investigator asked extensively about about my research interest and educational background, toured around the lab and explained the ongoing projects in mind for the coming year
Email the professor, have a conversation. Then they will usually ask about your relevant classes and determine if you are a good fit. Usually strong interest will get the job.

Entretien
It was a quick 60 minute chat with a behavioural interview followed by a technical round related to research writing. The interviewer was warm and friendly. It was conducted online via Zoom and we worked collaboratively on a google doc to look at my writing and research process.
