J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 5 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez DoorDash (New York, NY) en oct. 2021

      Entretien

I was contacted over LinkedIn by a Recruiting Associate, and we had a phone screen. She was thorough and effective, and did a great job describing the org I was interviewing for. It was after this call that things got strange. I was then handed off to a different Recruiting Coordinator who asked for me to provide availability in a scheduling tool. I provided lengthy blocks on every day of the week for multiple weeks, but was still informed there was no calendar alignment between me in the team. After some back and forth, we were able to get a 45-minute call on the books. On the day of the interview the calendar event was deleted by DoorDash with no explanation. I emailed both of my contacts on the Recruiting team to ask if I should remain available during that time (I had taken time out of my workday for the call), but didn't hear back from anyone until after the scheduled time. At the end of the day I received an email from a different member of the Recruiting team asking me to provide availability once again in the scheduling tool. The soonest we were able to get a call on the calendar was another two weeks out. At this time it was clear to me that this process was going to be disorganized, so I continued pursuing other opportunities and eventually accepted a role from a competitor. When the time finally did come for the second phone screen, it felt quirky for an organization as established as DoorDash. Two product managers greeted me on a Zoom call, and then instructed me to turn off my camera to "keep it casual." Some of the questions they asked were good product interview questions (scenario-based questions about other tools, prioritization exercises, etc.) while some felt random and unrelated ("What would you change about Spotify?"). They provided no feedback on any of my answers. Their attitude also left me feeling like the call was a chore to them. This call validated my decision to accept an offer elsewhere, and I did receive an email from a Recruiting Associate to inform me that "unfortunately it looks like it's not going to be compatible right now." No other feedback was given.

a recruiter chat then a phone screen with a PM that was like mix of product sense and how you rank features and stuff. tthe virtual onsite was four rounds: analytics, product sense, prioritization, and values. the prioritization interview is easily the toughest part of the loop. they don't want generic roadmaps; you have to balance limited resources across their three-sided market (dashers, restaurants, customers) and make really hard trade-offs on who wins and who loses in a given scenario. product sense was super grounded. they aren't looking for you to pitch shiny new app features. we mostly just talked through how to fix things when a live order goes sideways, or what your move is when a neighborhood suddenly runs out of drivers. analytics round was heavy on metric trade-offs, and the values chat was basically checking how you deal when things go wrong with process or other stakeholders, etc. for prep, I’d sayt ditch the standard pm frameworks and actually study gig economy mechanics (there are a lot of gud resources available online). i grabbed a mock interview on prepfully with a doordash pm beforehand and it really helped me get a grip on the marketplace balancing act. you have to be ready to defend your logic when they push back.

Had a call with the recruiter, then product prioritization round (screen interview). They were looking for defining metrics, users, mapping user journey, identifying and prioritizing pain points and proposing solutions

Recruiter screen, a product prioritization case, and an onsite. Review marketplace companies, and how to improve product usage experiences - these will be tested in the cases. Rest of the interviews are standard behavioral, very close to the document sent by the recruiter
