      Entretien

Job posting was on craigslist, and stated there were several jobs available. I responded to the ad with my resume, which is extensive in the call center industry, and asked if there were leadership or other advanced roles, and she responded by scheduling me for an interview. I arrived, and as I was walking in I noticed that they were playing pop music pretty loudly for a call center. I was advised to fill out an application before proceeding to the interview. Two people were in the room with me. One of us was on an iPad, and the other two were on computers. After we finished the applications, myself and two other people were group 'interviewed' by two people in a somewhat haphazard group fashion. The first person got done with her pitch, which lasted about 15 minutes, asked and got an answer from one person, then from the next, but the interview was interrupted in the middle of the second person's answer. The third person was not asked and did not answer a question. The second interviewer then reiterated the pitch, not quite word for word. The bulk of the interview involved them describing that there is only one position that they hire for, which is cold calling, that only a handful of people had ever been hired for anything other than lead generation. It pays not quite $10/hr, but they talked up the bonus structure quite a bit. They advised that there are quotas, and that if you're not generating leads, then you're going to be sent home. They emphasized the need for positive attitude, and for schedule adherence. They then asked how enthusiastic we were about the 'opportunity' and asked to rate it from 1 to 10, and the interview proceeded from there.
