      Entretien

Several interviews were carried out. The first with HR went well, and the next with the team manager went extremely well. Between these two interviews, a technical exercise, fairly accessible. I went through to the last step, the meeting with the technical support engineer team. For the latter, it was nothing short of unreal. A group of men, who seemed to have discovered that a woman could be in tech. Right from the start, one of them told me I shouldn't talk. A very negative experience, which shocked me enormously. I can see that, 6 months later, they're still looking for someone for this position, but I think this team needs to rethink its approach, because they're red flags. At the end of this last interview, I was reassured that HR had said no to me, because I'd been feeling sick to my stomach throughout the meeting, and I wouldn't have accepted the offer. I also noted the coldness of the negative feedback, without any context or explanation after almost 4 hours of interview. I don't think this is a company with strong human values, and one that suffers from a macho mentality.

I went through the following stages: HR interview, technical test, interview with hiring manager, peer interview with other members of the team, chat with CEO. This went on for over a month. After each stage, I received only positive feedback. Finally, I was made a verbal offer, which I accepted over the phone. I suggested it would be nice to visit the office and meet the hiring manager because the entire process had been remote up until that point. This was when everything started going downhill. The hiring manager did invite me to the office, but she couldn't seem to understand why I wanted to meet her. The meeting itself was awkward. First, she gave me a really extensive tour of the office (this was largely irrelevant because they had already told me they would be moving to a new office before my start date, but I went along with it). Then she sat me down in a conference room, got out a notebook, and asked me what my "concerns" were - I tried to reassure her that I simply wanted to meet her in person before signing any contract with them, but she seemed suspicious. I left thinking it had been a little odd, but I wasn't too concerned because of all of the good feedback they had given me previously. The next day, they performed a stunning U-turn and rescinded their offer, stating only "we have some concerns about your ability to adapt to our working hours". I wrote them a response challenging this, but they simply ignored me. In hindsight, it was easily one of the most demoralizing professional experiences I have ever had.

      Question 1

Generally speaking, the questions throughout the process were standard and easy to answer. The CEO's line of questioning was very much oriented towards understanding what makes me "tick".

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your interview process with Didomi. We appreciate all feedback as it helps us improve our recruitment processes. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Our goal is to ensure that all candidates have a transparent and respectful hiring journey. We regret that this was not the case for you and understand how this situation could be demoralizing. We would like to clarify some points from our perspective. Throughout the interview process, we strive to be as transparent and accommodating as possible. When you requested to visit our office, we were more than happy to arrange this to help you get a better feel of our work environment. It was during this visit that concerns arose regarding your ability to adhere to our working hours, which is a critical requirement for the role. In your email following the rescinded offer, you mentioned that you were exploring the possibility of working from Costa Rica for extended periods. While we do support flexible work arrangements, it is crucial for us to have clear and upfront discussions about such preferences to ensure alignment with our operational needs. Had this been communicated earlier, we could have addressed it directly and potentially avoided any misunderstandings. We understand that the rescinding of the offer came as a shock, especially after receiving positive feedback throughout the process. This decision was not made lightly and was based on ensuring the best fit for both you and our team. We regret that this was not communicated to your satisfaction and apologize for any distress this may have caused. We are continually striving to improve our processes and communication, and your feedback is invaluable in this regard. If you would like to discuss this matter further, we are open to having a conversation to address any remaining concerns.
