      Extremely Disappointed with the HR Process – Misleading Salary Discussions The process began with an HR screening where I clearly communicated my salary expectations for the role. The HR representative acknowledged they couldn’t meet that figure but offered a lower amount, which I agreed to after evaluating the role and tech stack. The interview process itself was comprehensive, consisting of 5 rounds: 3 technical rounds, 1 psychometric evaluation, and 1 HRBP discussion. I felt confident in all the technical rounds, which I found engaging and informative. I believed I performed well and met the expectations set during the discussions. After completing all the rounds, I was informed by HR that I had successfully cleared them and was presented with an offer. However, this is where the disappointment began. The offered salary was almost the same as my current fixed compensation, which was far below the amount discussed at the start (in the HR Screening call). After investing nearly 2 months in the process, and dedicating significant time and energy, the HR failed to honour their initial commitment. They tried to justify the discrepancy by highlighting a variable pay component, joining bonus, and retention bonus. However, my expectation was clear from the beginning: the salary needed to be aligned with the agreed-upon fixed component. When I raised my concerns, I was told that the salary offer was based on interview feedback, but despite asking for that feedback, I was never provided with any details. To make matters worse, after all this, the HR completely ghosted me. If the company is not willing to offer the salary they initially agreed upon or if the position was never meant to be filled at the discussed salary, I would have appreciated it if they had been upfront about it from the start. It feels like my time and effort were wasted, and I’m left questioning whether this was a legitimate opening at all. I highly suggest that candidates be cautious when engaging with this company, as their HR process lacks transparency and professionalism.
