I arrived to the interview 5 minutes early, and waited in the lobby for 15 minutes. I was ready to leave when the owner finally walked another interviewee out and brought me back. The interviewer was misogynistic and condescending. I felt like he was trying to manipulate me by being rude and low-balling me. He critiqued my portfolio for 10 minutes and nit-picked a bunch of my answers. A portfolio is a standard part of the application process- if you don't like it, don't bring me in for an interview. I think he thought that if he was rude to me and criticized me, I'd be more grateful for and likely to accept an offer. Not true at all- it just made me want to get out of there faster. He also laughed in my face for asking for 40-45k a year, and said I'd be lucky to get $35k, which is what they were offering. I accepted an offer elsewhere for 60k shortly after.
