Interview was on Saturday at Bangalore. I was given an assignment two days before, which I was supposed to complete and take with me. The HR(she was located at Gurgaon) told me that it is mandatory to complete the assignment, as questions would be asked based on that. She also told me to carry my laptop, to showcase the assignment.
After I reached the venue, the HR at Bangalore, was clueless about the contact person whom I was supposed to contact. After repeated asking, they somehow showed me where to go. My interview was scheduled for 9.30, I was called around 11.20.
During the process of interview, the interviewer asked very vague questions. He also tried to know, about the ongoing projects in my current company. When I declined to discuss about those because of NDA(non disclosure agreement), he was visibly not very pleased.
When I felt that the interview is nearing the end, yet the interviewer was not asking for the assignment, I reminded him. To which he said in a very casual manner to show it. But he didn't ask me any question regarding it. I tried to present it, but he stopped me and asked me to wait for HR round. I started waiting from around 12 o'clock. At around, 5.30 HR came and told me sorry not selected. I really don't understand what took them so much time.
I had high regards for Deloitte, but after this kind of unprofessional approach, I am really at loss of words.
Why was I asked to do assignment, when its of no importance? Why was I asked to carry laptop? What took so much amount of time to decline a candidate?
I was in no way expecting a positive feedback. I expected atleast some questions in the interview to figure out my weak points. But when no questions related to my work is asked, how can I get that idea even. Totally bad experience I had.
