Lengthy interview process consisting of four rounds of interviews and multiple assigned exercises. The position was advertised as full-time Remote. I was verbally offered the position and accepted. I was notified that they needed to set up an entity in my state for tax purposes which I am aware of as previously being a remote employee at another employer. They said my start date would need to be pushed back as the process would take a month to set up an entity. A full month after verbally accepting the offer, Euromoney rescinded the offer as they were not willing to set up an entity in my state. This is very unprofessional and shameful that would not honor the verbal agreement and that it took a month to let me know. Shortly after verbally accepting the offer, I turned down a competitive offer with another company. I also ceased my job search for that month and missed out on a month worth of outplacement support service from Lee Hecht Harrison that I will not be able to recoup as I am only allotted a specific amount of time with the service as part of my severance package from my former employer. Additionally, I also wasted multiple of my former colleague’s time having them write up referrals specifically for this position that was required after my verbal acceptance.
