I was hesitant to apply because I didn't have any Java experience but HR assured me that they'd be willing to help me learn despite my background being in PHP/Node. I somehow managed to pass their Java hackerrank test, but was frustrated by the amount of hidden test cases that only showed up after I completed it.
A week later to my surprise I got an onsite interview. First I met with HR, then some product team members, had a whiteboarding session with the web platform team and then met some of management.
Overall I was extremely impressed with the timely followup and on-point nature of the HR contact, something I have not experienced with any other local employer.
I was disappointed that they interviewed me for this position despite my not having a java background because the reason they turned me down was "not having java experience".
