Interview comes in four parts. Initial call with the recruiter went well and she was friendly. It mostly consisted of her telling me about all the perks of the company, such as the free food, office dogs, outings, etc. and a few behavioral questions. Ten minutes after the call ended, I received an invite for a second interview with the other Staff Accountant. I found it to be very uncomfortable, as the Staff Accountant seemed uninterested and continuously cut me off after every sentence. On top of that, she cursed multiple times (which I guess is ok for their industry) and I could barely understand her over her monotone voice. She was rude, boring and did not seem to care that I was interested in this position and didn't care to get me know me as both a person and an employee. Frankly, it was a boring and dry interview, therefore I absolutely did not enjoy my experience. As expected, I received a generic rejection letter the following day, despite having all the qualifications, and even met all of their “plus” qualifications. I took it upon myself to look up the Datadog team on LinkedIn. Lo and behold: the majority consisted of all WHITE employees and that doesn't look like that will be changing any time soon. “Equal Opportunity Employer” does not apply for this particular company, despite being written on their website and job postings. They interview minorities and people of color just to say that they followed protocol and can give themselves the label of "Equal Opportunity Employer." Datadog should keep their focus on training their interviewers, instead of selling their "perks and outings." I really don't care that the Staff Accountant interviewer is a "new manager," and I most definitely don't care that they are trying to win an award for "Most Diverse Team in NYC" (a real mockery if you ask me), as discussed during my post-interview feedback session. That should not be a reason for an interview to be conducted so poorly - they are wasting people's time and efforts. Do not bother applying if you are not white because they will waste your time just to put down that they interviewed a diverse group of people. It's a shame that a company growing at this rate in this day and age, could be stuck in such an archaic recruiting tactic, as it enables racism. As applicants, focus your efforts on a company that values diversity and cares for applicants as people. I thank my lucky stars that I did not go any further in the interview process, as I would not like to be a part of such a bland, arrogant and white-dominated team that does not value diversity and inclusivity.

I interviewed for the Staff Accountant position a couple of days ago and all I have to say is that it was the worst interviewing experience of my life. Initial call with recruiter went ok. Although the recruiter seemed to focus on selling me the company perks such as free food and happy hour, which are nice perks but not the reason I am going to choose a company to work for. She seemed to just be working there for the fun and free stuff and nothing else. I was later interviewed by one of their accountants and she was beyond rude. She showed no interest at all throughout the interview. She kept interrupting me and quite frankly made me feel very uncomfortable. After the interview, I knew right away that I would not be hearing back from them for the next round. I later looked up the whole Finance/Accounting team and it is made up of all white people. Clearly, there's no diversity in the team nor do they intend to change that. Stay far away from this racist company. They probably just interviewed me to say they followed protocol but they know exactly who they want to hire and it is definitely not someone of color. Now that I know this I am glad it didn't go far as I would probably have been miserable working for such an Unequal Opportunity Employer. The Accountant should really take some interview training sessions. Her interview skills were lacking and her personality was so arrogant and boring!
