Entretien
1. I was referred by an Employee
2. Took little over 5 weeks to get a call scheduled with the recruiter
3. 1st round 30 mins - Recruiter vetted the profile and said I would be a great fit.
4. 2nd round with hiring manager(who just became a manager a month ago and was operating at this Sr CSE role in the company)
45 mins interview, the manager was clueless for the larger part of the interview, he did not have basic understanding of the technologies used in this space. He seemed happy eith my skills and background and said next round would be with his boss, Sr Manager.
5. 3rd round 45 mins with Sr Manager - basic questions, all answered properly. Indicated they like my profile and look forward to working with me.
A week later I get the template "sorry, we do not think you are the right fit for this position"
My reason for negative experience:
1. Took far too long for the recruiter call specially when it was via a referral through their employee
2. Round with hiring manager was basically a waste of time as it appeared he wasn't the decision maker nor did he have experience interviewing candidates for this role.
3. I didn't even get to the take home exercise round and wasted nearly 3 hours talking to 3 different people from the company.
Clearly their process is inefficient that it took them 3 rounds to tell me my profile was not a match.
4. This appears to be a case of Unconscious Bias. My current job title is Premier Support Engineer. The job description of my current role is exactly same as the Sr Customer Success Engineer role for which I applied.
But the moment they heard me say 'I am a Premier Support Engineer', I noticed a slight disappointment on their face the moment they heard the word Support.
I am surprised that a manager and a Senior Manager both missed their mark on judging a profile just because the title has 'Support' in it.
Positives-
Once the recruiter reached out 1st time agter initial delay, there after he was quick to follow with next steps/communication.
Both the hiring managers were also well behaved, no arrogance/attitude.
I wish I had seen other reviews before applying.

Question 1
NDA, didn't really get to solid technical questions. Mostly fundamentals on what I know etc.

Had two interviews one with a manager and the other with a director. On the 2nd interview, the director seemed having no technical knowledge and after 10 minutes of a very casual conversation said "I have what I need, do you have any questions?" such immature behavior is not expected from a director at this level. It seemed rude and disrespectful and I knew at the time I won't like working with this kind of team.

Question 1
Very basic questions such as
1 - Snowflake Vs Databricks.
2 - What is a VPC?
3 - Can you do the same stuff with Snowflake that you can do with Databricks?

The overall interview experience is bad. The process had 7 rounds in a span of 1.5 months. I've listed down the experience per session. - HR Round: Basic HR questions but focussed more on salary expectations. I proposed a 30% standard hike and HR agreed. - Managerial Round: Googled Managerial round questions and some grilling on experiences. Same salary expectations. ***** at this point, the salary was discussed twice ***** - Technical Round 1: Take home questions. 15 hands-on questions. If you know spark and databricks, you'll be able to crack it easily. - Technical Round 2: A round with Lead Engineer to grill you more on the take home questions. Optimization questions. Case study and scenario based questions. - Architect Round : Scenario based question. Business and Environment understanding and compatibility. Communication. daily Situational issues. - Presentation Round: Business problem with data. 1 week to present the findings using a ppt. ***** Now if you clear all the rounds, they will ask for references from your previous organizations ***** - Compensation Negotiation: Great part, right? NO... they offer peanuts... an 8% hike.... disappointing after almost 2 months... wastage of time... and then a lot of follow-ups and lies..
