      J'ai passé un entretien chez Dapper Labs

      I applied and got screened thru a 3rd-party agent who told me about the new roles. The interview process took six weeks, was well-organized, and everyone I met or interacted with was nice and welcoming. I had an initial call with the hiring manager, a technical interview, a take-home Cadence programming assignment, another technical interview with code walkthrough, and a values interview. They were all 1-on-1s except the 2nd technical interview. Every step was a great opportunity to learn more about the role, connect with the interviewers, and get a sense of the team dynamics. The team is really passionate about their work, the company’s mission, and upbeat about new developments in the blockchain industry as a whole. The values interview made it possible to meet an employee from a different team and background—for me, someone who joined Dapper Labs towards the beginning, almost four year ago. He made sure to give me time to ask him questions, and had insightful and honest answers about the startup’s culture and rapid growth. I was informed of the next steps by the coordinator within a day or so after each step. Two interviews were rescheduled, with appropriate notice. After the final round and checks, I was invited for a logistics call dedicated to level, compensation, start date, and vacation. I initially applied to both an intermediate and a senior level role as I wanted to learn more about each level’s expected responsibilities and impact in the company. I got an offer for intermediate. The recruiter insisted that the team recognized it was a close call and hoped I could quickly grow along if I joined, which greatly aligned with my goals. Potential improvement: sending a link to those who work on the Cadence assignments but end up not joining Dapper Labs to claim a small reward for recognizing their time/effort, such as a restaurant gift card or a NBA TopShot Starter Pack.
