Filled out an online application, which included a questionnaire about writing experiences, interest in the Daily Bruin, as well as several 500 word writing exercises and a personal writing sample. I came in for an interview to discuss my qualifications further.

Writing exercise (500 words): Write a profile of an artist, musician, or anyone in or aspiring to be in the arts and entertainment world. They can be professional or amateur, a friend or a stranger - just someone who is in some way involved with the arts.

-Contacted about scheduling an interview the night of the application deadline, applied about 1-2 weeks before
-Interviews are conducted week 2, wed-thurs in my case
-Interviews in the Daily Bruin office, conducted by one of the Copy chiefs and one of the slot editors
-Setting not extremely formal, wore a nice pair of jeans, Carhartt collared shirt, and leather shoes
-Interviewers were dressed well and casually, think the average outfit of a student w/ a great wardrobe
-Though email stated 15 min interview, ended up being 30 min
