Entretien
Got a call from consultant, interview was arranged the same week. Technical interview with VP level personal.
The most ridiculous question I was told / asked was:
Looking at my name, the interviewer thought I was a male candidate and hence choose to interview me. I was also asked being a lady, how can I manage work and home. I may have to stretch, work longer hours on regular days and also work on production releases over the weekends. He thought I might not be able to handle the same being the physically weaker sex (according to his chauvinistic thinking).
I answered him in the most diplomatic way that I've been in the release field for the past 9+ years and I do not see that to be an issue. I know what are the complexities involved with release management.
I was informed I was selected for the next round of interview with Senior VP. The interview got postponed for more than 2-3 weeks, finally to be informed the role has been closed internally.
On questioning the consultant, he did mention it was closed internally as the interviewer preferred a male candidate for the position.
The final round of interview was postponed for almost a month, the consultant was quite positive I would be given the offer, but things didn't work as predicted.
