      Entretien

I applied through my college job portal for “GRADUATE TRAINEE APPLICATION CONSULTANT” position. After a couple of days I received the following email:- Please give details of the most significant computer program you have written, preferably one you wrote in a conventional procedural programming language (e.g. Java, C, C++). Please address the following issues in your response: • Function of program • Language(s) used • Length (lines) • Difficulties encountered & how they were overcome • Your role in the group if it was a group project • Any other details Please also confirm the overall result for each of your studies, including A-levels / final High School exams and all undergraduate/postgraduate qualifications and any predicted undergraduate/postgraduate grade, so that your application can continue to be processed. Please make sure you also give details of the subject studied, date completed & name of institution attended. I replied back with the respective answers. The next day I received an email to setup a time for the telephonic interview. This was the first round in the hiring process and it took about 30 minutes. The following questions were asked:- 1) Why Customer Systems? 2) Why did you come to USA? (Because I’m an international student, I was asked this question) 3) Walk me through your resume 4) What is class? 5) What is object? 6) What is inheritance? 7) What is SQL Join? 8) What is the challenge you have faced in your projects? How did you resolve that? 9) Where will you see yourself after 5 years? 10) How much time do you need to learn a new programming language? 11) If you can travel back in time, do you want to change or modify any of your projects? 12) Do you have any experience in dealing with the customers? 13) Do you have any questions for me? The next round was again a telephonic interview with the Managing Director. The following questions were asked: 1) Which subjects did you study in high school and why? 2) How did you choose your under-grad college and your major? 3) Why did you come to USA? 4) Why did you choose Master’s? 5) Why did you choose XXX University for Master’s? 6) In high school how will you rate yourself in your class from 1 to number-of-students-in-the-class (1 is the highest and number-of-students is the least) 7) In under-grad how will you rate yourself in your class from 1 to number-of-students-in-the-class (1 is the highest and number-of-students is the least) 8) In Master’s how will you rate yourself in your class from 1 to number-of-students-in-the-class (1 is the highest and number-of-students is the least) 9) Tell me about a project you worked on? Explain the design and classes of a project. 10) Tell me about your internship experience. What are your responsibilities and tasks? 11) What do you wanna do after your graduation? After 48 hours I received an email saying that I couldn’t meet their hiring standards.
