My initial call with the recruiter and first interview went well. I was asked to submit two writing samples and moved on to the second round. This is when it got weird. In the second interview, the interviewer rudely accused me of failing to submit writing samples and was more interested in talking about his graduate school experience than my qualifications (How is this relevant to anything?) Toward the end of the interview, a bunch of CA employees not associated with the interview started joining the video call. As it turned out, this guy had given them the interview link by accident. Really awkward ending to the interview. I kindly sent this man a follow-up email to my interview, thanking him for his time and attaching my writing samples AGAIN. No response from this guy whatsoever. Overall, the process was a cluster and I felt I was not treated respectfully as a candidate.
