Confusing. I applied for Systems Hardware Test Engineer role. However, they interviewed me for a software position. The interviewer was a recent graduate, who completely ignored my Electrical Background and years of experience but focused on hypothetical unrealistic scenarios. As I explained to him the functionalities and electronics hardware of a cellular and how they should be validated.
Their feedback to the recruiter was, I do not think outside the box.
Had recruiter call then a 1hr technical screen. Half the time consisted of talking about my experience which I thought went well, then the other half was spent working on a coding problem in python. I did not do a terribly great job on this part and was subsequently ghosted.
The coding problem was quite difficult IMO for the time allotted and especially for the position. For a test engineer, why would you have such a tricky, convoluted problem in such a short period of time??
Unsure who they are looking for, as I felt I was a pretty good fit.

Overall I was appalled at the interview process. To be specific, the recruiter that I was working with. I could go on, but the summary:
- Referred by old coworker
- Talking with sourcer within 1hr of referral
- Technical interview (python) a week later
- Recruiter is impossible to get ahold of, does not show up to meetings, calls me at times we did not discuss, sends me emails with the wrong name, links that don't work etc etc
- Virtual "on site" interview with 5 one hour rounds. Some domain knowledge, technical (python), some behavioral.
-Recruiter is MIA after my interviews despite asking me to call them after I finished. Weekend goes by and finally I get in touch only after reaching out again.
- I am told they are generating an offer, I have already set salary expectations.
- Over a MONTH goes by of "yes yes we will have it for you tomorrow" or "actually due to XYZ we need more approvals" and finally "actually we have new salary bands so we need to start over". I didn't think I would ever actually see an offer, and *seriously* questioned if this was a legitimate company or not. I only stuck with it because I knew someone on the inside.
-I finally get the offer. It is wrong, not what we had discussed. Had to wait 48hrs for a new one
Finally signed and don't need to speak to this awful recruiter anymore. Whew. I hope no one has to go through this process again.
