1. Phone call with HR
2. Technical phone interview (Programming Question - C++ focussed)
3. On Site Interview
Cruise is definitely a very innovative company. They have a wonderful team that is hungry for success. You can see the determination on their faces when you step into the office. They have a bunch of really nice people working there who all presented a very positive outlook of the company.
The technical phone interview is what you expect from a self driving car company - a lot of good questions that gauge your understanding of C++ as well as your programming skills.
The on site interview was very heavy in terms of algorithms questions. There are some questions you will find on LeetCode and similar sites. The other questions are more focussed on solving problems that the team has solved in the past. These aren't easy and take a fair bit of thought to solve. There are multiple ways to solve these problems and they use it to gauge your thought process. It gives you a great idea of the problems you will be solving on a daily basis in such a role.
From the looks of it, this is a wonderful place to work with competitive salary, good perks and moreover a very capable team to work with. Although I really liked them, I turned down the offer because I felt I fit in better to a role to another company.
