The interview was set to be multiple rounds with different members within their leadership team.
The very first interaction was with this lady Samantha, a senior corporate recruiter for Umpqua. Initially it started out with screening questions such as:
- why work at Umpqua?
- Describe your previous work experience.
- describe your familiarity with Umpqua
- Which location you prefer to work in.
Prior to the interview, I did my research on the bank and all the products/services it offered to the public. In the Job description they had a starting range in the mid 20's (depending on experience). This is where it all went down, the lady who had a very condescending tone throughout the whole interview then suddenly threw me literally a minimum wage base pay (18 p/hour), something completely different that what was advertised in their job descriptions. She said the reasoning was because some of their internal employees don't make mid 20's and if they found out, they could retaliate against the Umpqua.
Given the predatorial behavior this employee showed throughout the who screening I had to decline any further interaction with her organization.
I suggest everyone to beware of this place and read their location reviews. Their reviews show nothing more than dissatisfaction from their members and unethical behaviors towards their members and their member's accounts.
Go apply at Chase, City Bank, Bank of the West or another institution who wont screw you.
