30min initial interview was conducted over Microsoft Teams with a hiring manager, interview offer was received early in the week and I was able to set up an interview the same week. The hiring manager was well spoken and very knowledgeable about the company. However even for a first round interview the interviewer had very little knowledge of the position and as such struggled to answer questions such as what tools are used for the position or even what the make up of the team would look like. I had the basic amount of experience and skills required for the position however I lacked the direct employment the position required which led the interviewer to stress several times that I likely wouldn't get the position but if "He felt like I was a good fit" he would recommend me to the position supervisor. Was told I would here back from the company in a couple days. Sent a thank you after the interview was over. The reason I am marking it as a negative experience is solely because it has been nearly a month and I have yet to hear back from the company and the position has since closed online.
