      Entretien

The interview process was riddled with red flags, but I went on with it because the position and organization mission interested me. What a mistake. Red Flag #1 -- The CEO of the company explicitly told me I'd have 24 hours to decide if I wanted the job once the offer letter was sent. This, in and of itself, is a huge red flag, but I went with it. I received the offer letter on Christmas Eve (federal holiday in 2021), and was given only 12 hours to decide. I emailed him within that 12-hour timeframe asking for more time to decide, since a) I was out of state spending the Christmas holiday weekend with my family and b) he was giving me half the amount of time I was told I'd have to decide. I had to laugh when in response I received HIS out of office message, with no response that day. Come Monday-- the next business day, and day I had asked for as a deadline-- he told me "I’m sorry that we weren’t able to accommodate your timeline." He didn't even accommodate his OWN 24-hour timeline. Red Flag #2 -- I asked for full benefits information with the offer letter. The CEO provided some, but no information about maternity leave. This is an organization whose mission includes empowering women, and he didn't bother to provide maternity leave information to a woman when making an offer. I asked for maternity leave information in the same email I requested more time, and I suspect this was a red flag for him, as people generally don't like to hire women who are or plan to be pregnant. He also didn't provide crucial information like work hours expected, time zone (he knows I live in a different one), and got my start date wrong-- smaller issues, but further shows the disorganization of Code2College. Red Flag #3 -- The job I applied to is posted as remote. I got different answers at each stage of the interview as to when the expected in-office date was and WHERE I'd need to be in the office, as there are no C2C offices where I live. One person from C2C said, "well you're in Chicago and we have a hub in Minneapolis, so that's kind of close," as if a city 6 hours away from me is a suitable alternative. I asked the CEO point-blank if there was an expected return-to-the-office date and a location I needed to be in. He told me "no" while seeming aggravated that I dared even ask the question, since COVID makes things unpredictable and that the organization was growing so fast, it was hard to know. Again, this was a REMOTE job posting, that apparently is not remote, and doesn't know when or where you'll be returning to the office. Red Flag #4 -- The job I interviewed for had a specific K-12 instructional coach experience requirement that I do not have. I was passed through 4 rounds of interviews with people who had access to my résumé, and only in the last round was I told that I didn't have the specific K-12 experience they were looking for. The CEO told me that this requirement was in the job description, and I had to point out to him that in fact the job description made zero mention of the K-12 requirement. To his credit, he apologized, but in the last round of the interview, it's too late. They offered me a lower job at a lower salary (lower than I currently make) - a job I never would have wasted my time applying to/interviewing for in the first place. Red Flag #5 -- I got wrong information from different C2C interviewers about what the next steps in the hiring process would be, and who I'd be interviewing with. Twice, the interviewer got the job wrong that I was applying for. I was told I'd get a hiring exercise by a certain date, only to not get one at all. It seems they have poor internal communication there and that their explosive growth just means people don't know what's going on. All this to say: I don't recommend wasting your time with this organization. They are highly disorganized, don't seem to know what they're doing, can't hold their own commitments, and expected me to make an offer decision on Christmas Eve with only 12 hours to decide. If that's what the interview process is like, working there must be an absolute nightmare.

      Question 1

Asking about experience and how it relates to the job -- nothing out of the ordinary.

The interview process was lengthy and I needed to follow up after every step of the process. Overall it took about 2 months to get the final decision however in this current job market that is an average timeline.

You are given coaching/support scenarios relevant to the role and asked how you would respond.

Applied via email with letter of interest. Received an interview with a board member the next day. Progressed to a second interview with an employee. After about 2 weeks, got a final interview with board members, CEO, and employees (CEO was logged on but camera was off). First interview was general questions along with case study exercise where I was provided data and had to come up with questions. . Second interview included case study exercises as well. Final interview included five exercises all who b were timed. I never received a follow up regarding the position even after emailing them.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

After six months of working, the CEO has decided that they would like to continue pre-screening emails that you send to the volunteer teachers. However, that is causing for you to miss some deadlines. Write an email to the CEO.
