I had contacted them by email and the recruiter liked the profile so she set up a call with two people on the team. The call began with the first person which was basic questions regarding the resume, past internship work, coursework, etc. He seemed to have liked the profile. We discussed some interesting topics. Then the second person joined. From the beginning, he didn't seem to be interested much. He also asked a few questions. The main question he asked was how would adapt yourself from an academic to a startup environment. I mentioned that I had done two internships where for the first one we were a team of just 35 people and at my second internship we were a company of 20 people including interns and full-time employees. So, I mentioned I do have experience working in such an environment I would not require to adapt. I understand the responsibilities vary over time. We need to go above and beyond sometimes for some tasks. The timeline is usually very tight so you need to act fast, you need to solve multiple issues by yourself, etc. Still, he asked again the same question how will you adapt. I was then unsure at that point what answer was he expecting. And I did not hear back. Followed up after 2 weeks and they said they are looking for more experienced people.
