Pretty simple. I went into the professor's office and talked to him about what he would want a graduate teaching assistant to do, and he asked me questions to determine if I would be a good fit.

He asked me to show him my work in previous classes to make sure I was the caliber of student to TA others.
It was a 30 minute skype interview with primary advisor and received offer in about in a month. The staff was very professional and helpful in the hiring process.

Entretien
ECE department offers a speech test for all candidates to qualify for the TA/ GA positions. The test is conducted by a panel which grades your performance. The test is easy and only criteria observed is how well you teach and able to communicate to the panel of expert professor judges.
