J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Claire's Stores (Pleasanton, CA) en févr. 2026
Entretien
From the moment I walked in, the experience was unprofessional. I arrived on time and was not greeted by anyone. When I approached an employee to let them know I was there for an interview, I was ignored. I stood and waited for approximately 10 minutes before being directed to the hiring manager.
While the hiring manager printed my resume, another employee stood behind her, looked at my resume, and made fun of my name. No one corrected her. That moment set a very uncomfortable tone for the rest of the interview.
The interview itself was disorganized. The hiring manager openly warned me about the disorganization of the store and what I should expect working there. She also made a comment that seemed to reference the employee who had ignored me and mocked my name, without me bringing it up. It was clear this behavior is known and tolerated.
Despite all of this, I remained professional throughout. At the end of the interview I was told they liked me and felt great about me as a candidate. I was then ghosted with no follow-up communication.
The environment felt unwelcoming, and the treatment I experienced suggests a culture where unprofessional and potentially discriminatory behavior is allowed to continue unchecked. I would encourage candidates, particularly those with non-traditional names, to be aware before applying.

The interview was fairly simple with the first and main question being if you are comfortable with piercing expectations, schedule flexibility, and independent work. The interviewer was straightforward and honest.
