I applied online and was asked a handful of simple, basic questions and was also required to fill out my work history. About two weeks after I had submitted my application I received and email with the title "Please meet with us at Chipotle!" stating a date and time for an initial interview for two days in advance. When I went in there were several other candidates, perhaps ten of us in total, waiting to be interviewed. There were two other individuals who I could see brought a copy of their resume. Everyone seemed to be dressed business casual. We as a group initiated small talk while we waited.
The interviewer came out right on time and asked "Who would like to go first?". We each got about ten to fifteen minutes with her, and were asked basic questions and given a little bit of background on the company and what the position was like. It was easy, low key and stress free. At the end of my interview I was told that I should receive an email within 48 hours in regards to their decision.
Less than twelve hours later on the same day, I received an email asking to return the location to meet with a different individual (as denoted on the bottom signature of the email) for a second interview. The date and time was three days into the future.
I am waiting for the second interview and will happily update my experience afterwards.
** Update **
My second interview was more of what I expected from an interview. When I arrived I approached the line and let them know I was there. I was asked to have a seat and I did so I could watch the team work and process orders while I waited. I had shown up about 10 minutes early, but I think I only waited about five.
At first, I was interviewed by one of their apprentices. He stated that he would be leaving in a month or two to his own store to become a GM. This was the longest portion of the interview, about twenty minutes for me if my calculations were correct.
Then their Kitchen Manager came and asked me a few questions including asking about the history of the company, what food with integrity meant to me, where I saw myself in a year, etc.
Afterwards another individual, I believe he was their Service Manager sat down and spoke with me about my long term goals, what they were looking for in a crew member, etc.
I met with two crew members and asked them a few of the down and "dirty" questions regarding a day to day work experience at the store and I got some great positive feedback.
I met with the apprentice again and was told to expect a call or an email within the next several days regarding their decision.
** Update 2 **
I received an email about 12 hours after my interviews with "new hire" login information for their site. Looks like they do a LOT of their hiring process online!
