      Entretien

You get invited to a 45-minute interview after completing a pre-screening questionnaire and then a maths and English assessment, where you have to score at least 28/40 (you have to score at least 15 points in the English portion). Then contacted by phone to arrange the interview. The interview was a standard competency-based interview with a quick maths question thrown in. Only one recruiter. Found out the outcome instantly and was not made an offer because they didn't have the experience they were looking for (despite it being a TRAINEE role and the fact I've done the exact job on the same contract before!). Applied again in May for the same role. The furthest I got was completing the pre-screening questionnaire. They tried to contact me, but one called last about 20 seconds before the caller hung up without saying anything, then another call the next day, where the same thing happened, though this call lasted 7 seconds. Then because they had not heard from me, my application was withdrawn. The thing is, I had been trying relentlessly to contact them. My emails were ignored, and the number they provided does not work. Overall, the worst recruitment experience I've ever had.

Applied for the job on the 13th May, a recruiter got in touch on the 14th to ask questions about my CV/the job. Rang back on the 17th to offer me a place in the Assessment day. This consisted of three parts and lasted approx. two hours. The day had been split into two time slots due to the large amount of applicants, I attended the 2-4pm one. There were 16 of us for this time. We were greeted, given a brief overview/presentation, then half of the group was taken to complete a numeracy test (a calculator was provided) and a data checking competency test. Both tests lasted 25 mins each and were straight forward. The other half of the group did a ‘speed interview’ in which five line managers each had a regular interview question and you would around the room to each one. This meant you were meeting five different people who could ultimately provide a better view of you- a nice change from the usual interview process. All the staff were friendly and it was an overall enjoyable experience. I was offered the job on the 30th May.
